Currently I have a problem with a site that has BRI incoming lines. When any calls are placed on hold and not attended to after about 1 minute they are dropped.
Happens from any extension and on any incoming line. I have looked in 20-31 but am having no joy fixing the problems.
Any Ideas??
Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the boar Scar.

We have several NEC people on the board but we will need to know a little more info.

What System are you working on?
What version (prefferably)?
What Cards are in the system sometimes helps.

Thanks for the intro.
FYI
Very new to installing NEC gear coming from another system background. Unfortunately training in my area is going through a period of change and so no training on NEC systems yet, basically learning by mistakes. smile .

Opps sorry.
The system is an IPK II
Fairly basic system,
1 x BRI card
4 x 8 channel digital card
1 x 4 channel analog card

IPK II firmware is 1.01
and BRT card is 3.04

Thanks.

I would start by upgrading the cpu to 1.52 or higher, if there's a newer version. I haven't checked lately. 1.01 has DOZENS of bugs and "undocumented features".

I would also flash the DTI card to it's latest available revision. Also, I find the internal csu is not always the most reliable so I install an adtran and disable the onboard csu.

Try that and let me know how you make out. :thumb:
