We are running on an NEC Electra Elite IPK system with Dterm80 phones. The last property I worked at used a similar system, but didn't use the Dterm80 phones. On our old system we used Feature 26 to toggle the music on or off coming through the phone speaker to have music at our desks. I don't have manuals for these phones and can't figure out a) if it's even an option and b) what feature code activates this function.

feature 26 is it on the ipk as well as any of the other elite series type systems

BGM needs to be allowed in Class of service programming for those extensions.

Is that something that can be done in-house (easily) or would we need a pro to do that for us? We have music on hold so the music source is there, but feature 26 does nothing.

It isn't hard to do, but does require a change in system programming and not recommend by someone that doesn't have the knowledge to do so.
