I have a customer with a DS1000. They want to change the names of the extns. When you press program on the display its not one of the options. So I checked the class of service ( prog 0101) to allow name programming, but it does not give me that option. The software manual says you have to have version 03.10.08 or higher. I assume they don't, because the class of service does'nt have "allow name programming". How then do I program names onto individual extns?

You can generally change the names from ext 300 usually. After you press the names soft key at 300 key in any extension then hold to change it.

also pressing 8 at a display phone with the handset down will display the SW version

I tried at extn. 300 pressing "prog" then "more" X2 (like the book says) and there is no name option on the screen.

I'm not on site, but had the customer hit 8, and it said VR 03.03.00

It looks like it's time for an upgrade. If you have the PC Cable it is a piece of cake.
