Hello, Im an IT guy trying to get to work an electra elite ipk phone system that was installed somewhere else and now has been brought to this office. As you might realize the system is already configured and im asking for help to make a very simple re-configuration:
I have 8 CO lines that already wired into the system, I want to have 8 extensions (actually the system is equipped for more) each extension need to have a dedicated CO line.
I already have the programming manual and I have tried to do it but seems that Im missing something.
So my questions would be what is the correct procedure to assign CO lines to stations? Why when I push speaker on ext 100 I get "ERROR" on the display, however when I push trasfer i got dialtone?
On ext 102, 6 of the CO lines are present on the Line Key buttons LK=CO1, LK2=CO2, etc..
Also, the manual says that I can enter special characters using redial + 1 = A , redial +2,=B redial +3=C; I have tried but they seem not to work.
thanks in advance for any help

You have "ERROR" on ext. 100 because you dont have any lines assigned to the buttons, or you have Outgoing Prime line set up for dialing 9 but have no lines assigned to trunk Group 1. To have a personal line at the ext. you have to make sure that this line is assigned only for that telephone, program DIL ringing for that line and make sure that line is not in rollover group from Provider otherwise during busy condition it will rolls over to somewere else.

One more thing. make sure that ext.100 has a Hands Free(HF) set to Yes.

You were right regarding the prime line, I found a phone number as a value on that memory location(Im guessing, typed myself tryng to make it work) deleted the value and left it blank and "voila" problem fixed.

So far this is what I have acomplished:
I have assigned CO1 to ext 100, C02 to ext 101, and so on... assigned LK1 to ICM, LK2 to CO on every phone.
I can dial from outside/inside to every phone. My new challenge is to make the Voice mail work properly and here are my issues/questions:
1: I have programmed LK3 to FBN (i guess thats the abreviation for forward busy no answer. If I dial from 102 to 100 goes to VM without a problem. However if I dial the CO1 assigned to 100, just keep ringing and never goes to VM.
2: How can I delete a recording that plays when I try to log into the VM; this is what happens: I dial 186 (first VM ext) asks for the password if I dont type the password correctly goes to a recording saying "thank u for calling to bla bla, our operation hours are SDSDSDSD".
3:What Im trying to acomplish is to forward any call ringing on ICM or CO no asnwered to VM of that ext. We dont need auto attendant or things like that.
I do not have the software to connect to the system (I read that I can use it to program the VM).
The VM Card is a Elitemail
Thanks

You have to established hunting for VM ports. Com. 4-14 assigns Master(Pilot) number for VM. usually it is fantom number for hunt group. Then Com. 4-15 established hunting siquence. Your exts has to be forwarded into master port for NA or BNA. Should be Icm.43 (Default). If you programmed DIL to ext.100 for Line2 it would never going to VM. Has to be just ring in 4-01 & 4-02.

You will need to DIT the CO Lines to their respective extensions to get the calls to forward to their mail boxes. This is done with memory blocks 3-42 & 3-43.

I see 1 huge mess slowly building and you and/or the system are going to lose your job(s) for non-performance. I'd get a visit from a qualified tech, if I were you. If 'Arlington' is in VA, there are probably 3 or 10 dealers in your area that can set your system up just as you want it, show you some kinks and twists, and possibly even offer a remote programming service for a whole lot less than you might think! Just a thought. John C.

Second what LightningHorse said.
A complete system redesign on an Elite is not a job for an Elite novice. The Elite will do everything you're trying to do, plus much much more, but you need to have a plan from the get-go or else you'll tie yourself in knots. As a man who has had to B & C a NEAX after being given the wrong specs for CM 05, believe me when I say that, without a plan from the beginning, you will rue the day you touched this Elite.
You could try to follow each piece of advice in turn, but the net result would be a mess. Get a pro, and do it right. The customer will be much happier, and you'll have fewer screaming phone calls.

you need a "COID" card instead of a "COI" card to make that work.. Also ask for you service provider to have caller ID turned(well this is how it is in our country not sure in other countries)
