I have an analog port adapter connected to a DTU-16.

Is it possible to dial a phone number from MS Outlook using a headset attached to the DTU-16 instead of it's handset.

You will really need a USB or a serial TAPI adaptor on the base of the fone with the TAPI drivers loaded to be able to use this feature. The analog adaptor will not help in this case unless you can connect a modem to it to do the TAPI outdial. May be possable but never seen it done.

FYI:
When I dial out of MS Outlook, Outlook dials using the internal PC modem. The modem is connected to the analog adapter port that is attached to the DTU-16. The phone picks up the right most line and dials the number.

My issue is when we need to use the Plantronic or any other Head set. When A call is generated from outlook, the CO line goes green. In order to activate the head set the programmed button LK16 (LK16 is programmed to activate the head set) is pushed. But I can not hear anything from the headset!

It seems that the port is being locked by the analog port.

Any ideas on how to solve this issue?

There are 2 ways to wire a headset w/ an NEC phone. Using the headset connector under the phone or through the handset. Your issue is in that area. Hope this helps.
