Installed a DSX 40 only to have the caller id not work on line 1 and 3. While line 2 works perfect. Moved line 1 to line 2 works perfect moved line 1 back to position 1 CID does not work. Same with line 3! Any thoughts on what can be done?

What about your line polarity (I have found that that can sometimes make a difference...)

Did you go into line config 3121 and check all three lines and reconfirm all three are on and up loaded.?

If you moved line 2 to trunk 1 and received Caller ID, then there is no programming issue with the DSX40. I always carry with me an inexpensive caller ID box that I can place across a line to test for caller ID data. My guess is perhaps the telco is not sending the Caller ID info on lines 1 & 3.

Any thoughts on what can be done? sounds like he gets CID from all three lines but only if terminated to trunk two position so he has verified CID from the carrier CID is programed on a per trunk basis

Sounds like Skip is right on to me too. He's missing a piece in the programming of lines 1 and 3.

I,m reading this the same as Skip and Stacy.
On your line config page program 3121
for line 1- 101 it should be yes 2- 102 it shoud be yes 3- 103 it should be yes
or copy as Skip suggested and up load.
Good luck
If you plug line one into 2 and cid works and line 3 into 2 and cid works ,programming would be the issue.
