Hello,
We have a 28i phone system installed with an NVM-2e voicemail system at one of our satellite offices. This office has a general voicemail extension set up for callers to leave messages after hours. The receptionist at this office has two keys on her phone programmed for voicemail, one for her own voicemail and one for the general voicemail. The key for her own voicemail flashes when new messages come in, but the key for the general voicemail does not. The receptionist is still able to access the general voicemail with that key, it just doesn't flash. I checked the phone and the general voicemail key is programmed correctly (1059 + ext). I checked the voicemail system and the message wait lamp is turned on for that extension. I've tried programming keys on other phones to access the general voicemail, but the button won't flash on those phones either. Any ideas on how I can get this button to flash like it's supposed to when new messages come in?

Did you try a reboot of both the 28i and 2e? The 2e is what updates the msg light i do know. The 28i I'm not that familiar with. Did you actually log into the 2e with hyper-terminal and verify that the "update msg light" was enabled for the general mailbox? I've done ton's of the 2e but never encountered that particular problem.

One more thing I can't remember right off hand though. not sure that the 2e would do this but pretty sure the vangaurd would. If you have a auto msg forward on, it may send the msg to another mailbox and leave a copy in the general mailbox too but not sure if the msg would ever light in the originating mailbox. Just an idea... let us know what you find.

Yes, message wait light is enabled for that mailbox. I'll try rebooting and see what happens. I'll also check the forwarding options. If you have any other suggestions, please let me know. Thanks.
