Hi All,
I have a telemarketing client. Right now if people want to be removed from their database, they call back the number on their caller id and leave a message in a mailbox set up be me with their phone number that they need removed. (Panasonic kx-td 1232 with Tva200 Vmail) They hire a person to retrieve the messages and manually enter the phone #s into an excel spreadsheet which is then used to update the "do not call list".
The volume of calls is huge, literally thousands of messages left over the course of a weekend, there is not enough time in the day to pull all the messages!
My question is, surely there must be some software/application out there where we can get the caller to enter their phone number so we can capture the dtmf touch tones and then input that informationto a pc program, preferably excel or word or any kind of database.
Anyone have experience with this type of thing or suggestions to how I can help them?
Thank you for your time.
Paul

Gee, really?

Some C4 strategically placed in their server room would be my suggestion.

Paul There must be software out there somewhere as I have called in to get my name off the lists. Do they work? Not a chance in hell, as I still get bothered. Take Hal's suggestion...it'd work much better, for us, the consumer anyway.

I hope I got the to the core of the issue. It's appears there are more people who prefer to be on the "Do Not Call" list than those who would like to be called.

I have a few customers, in the Service Industry, who eventually removed their Predictive Dialers because of the negative impact it had on their business. [/b]

A little less sarcasm would be helpful. Do I like telemarketers? No. But I have been asked to come up with a solution by a client for which I would receive compensation for. Aren't we all this business to make money?
Positive input appreciated.
Thanks again for your time,
Paul

An Amanda voicemail can do this using token programming. I can send you an example of the token programming required for this application.

I wonder about that myself. I seriously doubt they are using any software, they just have you call a number to make it look like they have a way for you to remove your number. Doing so does nothing and may even be used to confirm that yours is a good number when they turn around and sell their list.
I think the answer is the one Russ provided... or mine.
