I have A NEC 2000IPS system with AD-8 mail. My Problems is the Dterm phones lost VM soft key functionality because the VM was turned off. I have the instruction for downloading of VMS soft keys to the PZ-VM00 (VM card) but do I run any risk of losing any VM data ( mail boxes, massages etc..) when I initializes the VM card?

Are you using CM EC4 to download the soft key data? Is the cable connected from the AD8 to the MP card?

You don't need to initialize the VM card.
Just make sure you have the cable connected from the front of the VM card to the CPU and that DIP Switch 4 (modem/serial) is to the left.
Then re boot the vm card.
You shouldn't lose any data.

no the 4 dip switches on the IPS cpu.
If DS4 is to the right it is for the built in modem, to the left is for the seriel connection to the vm card.
