I believe the actual door box is popular, and is rebranded for use by many manufacturers, using the same or nearly the same guts. I have one called a "doorbell fon" The LED may not be used my NEC but may be used for other manufacturers applications.

If this is an ELITE 192/48 system, I have some programming notes.
The light should light after the button is pressed and is ringing the phones.

Here's all I have:
programs:
7-1 assign DPH card 1-7-00 assign doorphone to port 4-03 & 4-04 assign doorphone ringing day/night to digital ext's Doorphone ring to analog devices is NOT supported (including analog adpaters) 1-7-04 doorphone ring type
DPH (4 ) u10 supports 4 devices
Doorphones 1 & 3 share a speechpath as do 2 & 4
Good Luck
It's actually easy to setup, and the DP's cross connect on every other pair
