We have an NEC 192 system. I have no idea how this happened but I cannot gain access to an outside line from my terminal (everyone else's works fine). If I dial "9" the phone displays "ERROR". If I receive an incoming outside call I can't answer it (I pick up the handset and the phone displays "ERROR" and keeps ringing).
Internal calls are working fine.
I'm pretty good with the system but I inherited it so I'm no expert by any means. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Sounds like you have lost your trunk or CAP keys.. If you can access system programing with SAT /MAT you can compare it to another users fone otherwise you may need a visit from a friendly NEC tech.

Thanks,
You gave me enough info to fix the problem. I had lost the CAP keys.
