I have a customer with an elite 192ipk. They want
a multiline phone to ring on 2 particular lines and also have 2 single line phones on a sli board to ring at the same time. I haven't been able to get it to work. If i unplug the multiline phone, the cordless will ring. I am assuming because i have those lines ringing to the cordless phones also. any ideas. I have been working with the nec for a while now, and i still have trouble with the whole CAR/CAP thing. Any idea where i can get a good tutorial about the car/cap thing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Rickman! thanks for the quick reply. Yes, i did try MB: 4-01. Yes, but for some reason, if i have all 3 phones(2 analogs and 1 multiline) programmed to ring on that line and the multiline is plugged in, the analogs will not ring. If i unplug the multiline, the analogs will ring?????.
I am totally dumbfounded.
I don't see much for programming single line phones except in MB: 4-01 is that correct..By the way, i am currently doing this all via SAT.

Don't think you can Assign CAR or Caps on an anolog port.

In MB 04-12 you can assign SIE keys [an appearance of another extension or CAR key]
In MB 04-37 & 04-38 you can assign day & night ringing for the SIE key
It works on analog extensions as well as digital extensions

You will first need to program a CAR key/s MB 1-02-04 and DIT the line/s to the appropriate CAR key/s in day/night mode [MB 3-42 & 3-43]
Then you can assign SIE keys and ringing as needed
