I have a Partner 2 R4.1 phone system with an active voice reception voicemail. I have ports 56, 57 in hunt group 7. When somebody dials 777 the vm answers and asks for their security code like normal, if a second person dials 777 you get the main company greeting. I swapped the ports on the vm if the 1st caller hits port 1 or 2 in works correctly by asking for their security code, when the second person dials it goes directly to the main company greeting. Any suggestions

This is a two port voicemail?

What happens if you dial the ports separately? Does port 56 always work and port 57 always fail?

Yes, if I dial 57 it will always go to the main company greeting, when I dial 56 it works correctly.

It sounds like port 57 is different from port 56. I'd check whatever partner uses for a class-of-service by phone.

Since nothing changed when you swapped voicemail ports, the problem must be in the phone system, not the voicemail. You may wish to repost in the Lucent/Avaya forum.

Try creating a UCD group e,g 50 as a virtual ext and 56 and 57 associated in that group ?
Try calling it then

Other issue could be port 2 in vm software my have been changed to route to the opening greeting.

Do you hear DTMF on both ports if you connect a phone to the VM lines. make sure class of service is the same a port 1 any issues let us know...
