I am trying to hyperterminal my Comdila dsu I but I get alot of garbage or the lap[top locks up. I have a rj-11 two pair cable connected to a db-9 connected to my laptop. I have my settings according to my manual (9600 8-N-1). I am trying to find out what version the software is on trhe dsu because I still ahve problems with lamp light indicators working with my Debut VM.

If you are seeing garbage you're communicating with the cabinet but your settings are wrong! If you have a DSU, enter system programming. Dial 15, dial 1, dial 08, dial 11, dial ** then speaker off. If you have a DSUII, enter system programming. Dial 15, dial 1, dial 08, dial 11, dial ** then speaker off. In both cases you now have set com 1 to 9600 8-N-1. Program from ext-10 or 12.

Yes I did that but I still get locked up in hyperterminal. I think it might be in the pinout of the db-9? but not sure. <font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2">Originally posted by jwooten: If you are seeing garbage you're communicating with the cabinet but your settings are wrong! It does not sound like a pinout issue. Open your db-9 and make sure all non-connected wires are taped or cut off.
