We are getting ready to install a PRI card in one of our FX II's. It has an expansion cabinet. All of the slots are full, so I will need to condense some extensions and remove a digital card to install the PRI. Where can I find an install manual for the FX? Is there a specific slot the PRI card needs to go into?

see Manuals button above ^^^^^^^^^^^^

The FXII is not slot specific.

you need to have the software loaded for PRI, if it is not.

I suggest getting a certified installer to do this for you.

I checked it, but was hoping not to have to shell out the money for the manual [Linked Image from sundance-communications.com] Anyway, I have a phone guy that will help install it, but he generally works with other manufacturers and he wanted me to check on slot info. Also, we are at feature set 17d. Is this the software you mentioned re: the PRI card? We also have a DXP Plus at the same level and it has PRI cards so am I safe in assuming our FX II will support the PRI as well?

The II supports PRI extremely well. I hope your phone guy can swim because it's going to get deep!

He's good. He setup a network with partial T1's to 7 offsite locations from a DXP Plus to 7 FX II's and all works well, so I trust him [Linked Image from sundance-communications.com]

Well, we're bringing this PRI up today.
We gave the phone company these settings:
National or Custom PRI? (Usually National)? National

Line Coding:
__x____B8ZS or ______ AMI
B8ZS: Binary 8 Zero Substitution, also known as “clear channel”
AMI: Alternate Mark Inversion, sometimes referred to as “D-4”

Framing Format:
_x__ ESF or _______SF
ESF: Extended Super Frame
SF: Super Frame
ANSI vs. NON-ANSI
_____x_____ANSI: CSU / DSU is able to receive T1 performance reports from
Data link Channel (ESF option only)
__________NON-ANSI – CSU / DSU not able to receive reports

They are ready to bring the trunks up, but are getting a "lockout" error. Under ISDN PRI Board configuration, I have the following programmed:

Protocol:NI2
Default number [Linked Image from sundance-communications.com]ur 10 digit phone number
Calling number ID mode [Linked Image from sundance-communications.com]efault number
The next four things are greyed out and not programmable.
Network Specific Facility:None
Called Party Number:Unkown
Calling Party Number:Unknown
Local Tones:Enabled

Can you tell where we've gone wrong? I realize a technician would be a better way to get this resolved, but we are really pressed for time as this needs to be up before 5pm today. I'd really appreciate some help. TIA.

I would bet one of the Comdial techs here would give you some paid phone support. Sometimes is nice to have some insurance [Linked Image from sundance-communications.com]
