I just installed a DX-80 with f40 software and 4 of the new cordless phones (2 bases and 4 handsets). The problem i'm having is if your on line 1 for instance on one handset the light for line 1 on the other handsets will stay on only for a short while and then they go out. If you push the button it will tell you it's not available and the light comes on again for a short time. I assume this is done to save the batteries in the handsets but unfortunatly thats not what my customer wants they want it lit on every phone the entire time it is in use. Is there any setting that you know of to change this?

The set is designed to go into sleep mode to conserve battery life. Hitting the button brings it back to active status until it sleeps again.

Steve,
If you could make the light stay on all the time, they would complain about battery life. You can't win. Mark

Would you believe the customer wants the system pulled out because of this one feature? She is mad and does not want to hear about battery life. Oh well the customer is always right.

That's a bitch. I don't know of any system that behaves differently. Chances are good that this account cannot be pleased. Cut your losses and move on.

Somebody find the user guide for this set. One of my techs swears you can turn off sleep mode. I don't have a hard copy and can't access the web portal for Comdial downloads.

I just got on the CCC and downloaded the manual from a different spot. I don't see anyway to turn off sleep mode. Tech may have been hallucinating. Will investigate further.
