Can someone give me a reason or reasons why Comdial has always and continues to recommend against using Call Forward on Busy to voicemail, when voicemail is installed. I have received complaints from customers when I tell them that the manufacturer says this feature is not available or not usable. I could maybe understand the problem if Answering Position was set to go to an extension instead of a UCD group, but other than that I can't understand the problem in using it. I usually question things told to me by tech support, but this one I've heard pretty consistently.

Why do you want to set a busy destination? By using the pre-defined no-ans destination it goes to VM if busy or unanswered. Even on in house intercom calls, I just tested it. I think the features are maybe mutually exclusive, if you use one, like N/A then you can't use the other. Anyway, I just looked at about a dozen saved database's in 33, 39 & 40 and I haven't used the busy variable, just the Pre. Def. CF NA. I've never had cause to ask Comdial about this issue. Mark

The customer is reporting that when they go to transfer a call to a busy station, they are getting a busy signal before they release the call. Are you saying that if they were to hang up it would just go? Or maybe this isn't working the same as yours because this customer is still back on F32??

I didn't try it on a transfered call, I'd bet it would go to VM. But I would have to test it. I'll get back to you , I can test it here.
If the recep would say that ext. is busy do you want VM, then hit VM and the DSS key it would go straight away, this I know. Mark

Not always the recep, so many times they don't have the dss buttons for busy status. I said the same thing when I got the complaint.

I just did it here on 40 SW. You can hang up after transfer to a busy signal and it ends up in that phones MB after the calling party transferred hears 2 rings. Mark

Comdial isn't the only one that doesn't like fwd busy to voice mail. Nortel flashes and Call Pilots say program the send to FNA only. It's smart enough to go on a busy state also. If you force the cfw bsy on those you can end up in the wrong box.

Yeah, I knew about the Norstars with Call Pilot.
I'm just wondering whether it would work on this F32, the same as it did for Mark on A40. I've got another tech going to the site on Monday. I told him to give it a try, completing the transfer despite hearing the busy signal, to see if it will send him to voicemail.
I always figured the problem with using CFB on these was a lack of proper translation in voicemail. There must be something else to it too.

I can't speak to the 32SW cause I don't have it here to mess with. But I can say for sure that it works over top of a busy on the 40 SW. Mark
