can somebody send me a PM telling me which dip switch setting I need to use to set the system to master clear in mode 3. The laptop is down and the phones are flashing no communication.

Wasn't aware there was a dip for that. There is one to master clear after software upgrade. :shrug:

Dip switch 8 on the services board will do a master clear, but the mode is in system programming. I assume FXII here?

Nick52 you need to tell us what system you are working with. Master Clear/mode 3 does not need a switch. Depending on the system you may need to set a switch to force a baud rate if you can't get in via phone and do not know the baud rate. The mode is the master clear, the mode number tells what you will get by default. I hope you know that mode 3 is no programming at all. RBF is right about MC only after software upgrade with switch 8
