I read through the posts, regarding UCD and I have had limited success making it work, and they are about to request some changes.
Doctor's Office with about 5 or six phones handling incoming, but they get busy checking people into the Computer Database.
It's a DX80 soon-to-be two cabinets with F39, which I have read some issues about. The Voice Mail is a Flash, recently replaced when the HD crashed on the old one. Sorry - don't have the version handy. couldn't get UCD to work properly on that either.
I am trying to upgrade the F39 to F42, but they tell me they need me to send the processor to them for 3 days! Yeah, right! :read:
Any issues with F42 I should know about? We use King Technologies. Any suggestions on the upgrade - who to buy it from and how that happens?
I will tell you how I have it set up now, then what I think they are going to want:
Now:
UCD group 6(415) has nine members.
Tenant:1 All Ring (Free-For-All) No Answer Timer: 5 Overflow 1 Timer: 15 Overflow 1: 24:433 Overflow 2 Timer: 10 Overflow 2: 24:433 Overflow Count:1 Re-route: 101 Members: 102, 102, 103, 104, 105, 109, 110, 111, 119
All 8 lines set for Day: 6:415 Evening: none(Never out of Days) Pre-CFW None
What they have want now, is incoming call to hear
1)Ring 2)If not answered 15 seconds, Play recording "All busy helping other callers" 3)Music (optional) 4)If still not answered 10 or 15 seconds, play recording "Still busy, continue to hold or press "X" to leave a message.
5) Dial a Voice Mail Box or time out to: 6) Voice Mail, 101
I recorded an anouncement on 801 and that is playing now, not sure why.
Question One: How do I set it up to work as described above, using 31XX,32XX, 33XX? UCD Group 1 instead of 6??
Question Two: They are leaning towards A/A that says, "Thanks for calling, for billing press 4 (ext 120), for appointments, press 5 (UCD Group Above), Physicians, press 6 (ext 109), Operator, press 0 (101) or hold to speak to the Receptionist (101).
The system stays in Days (That rhymes)
I have to say, for a little system, they make it very confusing. I have about 4 Manuals and I get a headache trying to follow them. PBX's are easier to program. How about something simple like Line One is called "Line One" (Not 740)
Any Suggestions, Tips or Ideas?
I have access to CCC, as a dealer.
OK, guys .... what do I need?
Thanks to all of you for taking the time to help out!

Doc, you need more assistance then can be provided in this forum. I highly recommend that you set a system up in your shop and test. If you can't get it right you can spend some time with Comdial tech support since you are a dealer. The software upgrade to 42 is free on CCC and you install the chips yourself, all instructions come with the chips and it's very simple. The UCD group you have set up now I don't understand at all. I can't see how it works at all. 433 should be your rerout not your overflow. Mark

You are using the wrong UCD Group/ Use Group 410 UCD Groups 410-415 are the only groups setup in Trans.txt file of VoiceMail for this feature

Thanks, Mark and servcom.
I have it working almost the way I want... except A/A answers after 4 rings and I would like it to answer immediate all the time - always. (No Caller ID)
Thaks for the tips on upgrading , Mark ... I'll check CCC for that.
It is working anyway:
2: UCD 410 3: Ext 102 4: Ext 104
etc. etc.
Where should I look to set the number of rings on the A/A???
"Ma head feel likes it wanna busss open!"
Thanks for all your advice!

If you want AA to answer immediately just set the answering position / Day for 433 you can set the night mode for whatever you want, I would give them an option to ring sets in one of the modes. To do that just set the answering position to where you want ringing and the use CO line pre-defined call forward to 433 and AA will back up the ringing phones if they go unanswered. Mark
