I have noticed several posts regarding the DX-80 DBA. They were helpful but can anyone tell me if I can back-up an older version and restore it to a F42? I'm not sure yet what the older version is, it will take a site visit.
Also, where can I get the different versions of DBA?
Thanks

It depends.
If it 39 or 40, you should be able to back up the programming and reload it.
If it's 33 or less, first check the firmware. In order to upgrade to 39 or higher, the firmware on the cards in the cabinet has to be at least 15. If it's not 15, the highest level you can upgrade to is 33.
If it's 33 or less and firmwarm 15, I'd reprogram the system after the upgrade. It's easier that way.

I agree with Tina. But if you want to do it your way and it has the newer firmware, then bring it to 33 then you save it and use the pcdba converter on it and bring it into 39. From there you can move up to anything higher, the highest is 44. If you do bring it up from below 33 you will end up manually programming some of it anyway. Mark

Thanks Tina and Mark. I will make a site visit to see what my options are. Any thoughts on obtaining the DBA?

Older DX-80 KSU with F14 and lower Firmware should not ugrade higher than A33 chipset. A33 Chips is the most stable in the older KSU (I have installed and PGM more than 300 of these SYS).If your KSU Firmware F15 or higher you should upgrade to F42 Chips Set and PGM with F42 PCDBA. DO NOT UPGRADE TO A39 A40or A44 Chips Set. These Chips set releases is VERY BAD Tons of GLITCHES TRUST ME. You should only use F42 PCDBA to received A39,A40 and A44 Database then save as(new Name). CHANGE chips set to F42,Default SYS then upload the Database you Save as(New Name) Back to KSU. Hope this will help. *NOTE FIRMWARE IS MARK ON A CHIP ON THE MAIN BOARD ON THE RIGHT ABOVE THE CO LINES JACKS
