I have a customer (bank) using Interchange 12.1 with a call center and about 250 mailboxes.
Bank policy states all PC on the network must be protected by there Symantec client that runs all day long.
This seems to be a real resource hog as it boggs the VM down so much the call center has a large amount of issues.
What files can I omitt from the scan to lower the resource level Symantec is using on this PC.
No, I can't take it off the network because a few people are using VM to email's.

Security or convenience. Which do they want?
Why does Symantec need to be scanning so intensively all day long?

Symantec is a resource hog. Last I checked it was not a Vertical supported or recommended product. I think you're either faced with losing the VM to email functionality or using another virus protection platform. There are other platforms that are less resource intensive.
