I am upgrading a compact dcs w/ CID. how do I:
1) obtain the necessary laptop/pc sw to 'backup' the dB before I take the system down?
2) obtain necessary programming info?
And, what do I need to watch out for?

I am going to assume that you are not a dealer?To upgrade you would need the new software,Ram 2 card and the Misc 2 card.Enabling the cid isn't that hard you assign trunks as cid trunks and allow it on a station basis.You can also decide whether name or number appears first.
You also need to assign review blocks if needed.

sorry. I am working for a dealer and already have the hw. in fact, I have the manual too. but, as I was reading it, it indicated that it was a good idea to back up the system dB before replacing the RAM, etc. thx <font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2">Originally posted by wp7705:

Your dealer should be able to download the software off of the ebiz site then.It is dependent on what the software level is.
