I've inherited the job of maintaining our phone system, although I have no previous phone technician experience. I'm having a problem that I have no way of knowing how to approach. It seems that every once in awhile, our users will dial an extension, but it will actually ring up a completely different extension altogether.
For example, I would call x240, and x251 would ring. And if I were to call x240 again, I would then actually ring up x240. As near as I can tell, there aren't any problems with the users pressing wrong number keys.
Has anyone ever seen anything like that?
Thanks!

Try this, clear the forwarding on the phone by pressing 600. Then try calling the phone multiple times. I'm thinking that the phone may have busy forward to a different extension and no answer forward to voicemail. If 600 works then to forward the phone back to voicemail when it is not answered enter 603 + (voicemail group number) depends on what voicemail you have. IF it's a samsung svmi it's 529. If it's a starmail or other third party voicemail you'll have to figure it out.

Thanks, I'll give it a try. Oh, by the way...would pressing the keyset button assigned as FRWD0 (cancel all forwarding options) have the same effect of dialing x600 on a phone?

There is a rumor that one batch of phones was made under a full moon by the automated Hoyiesochung processor while two employees died during love making on top of the rom chip boxes and the memory on those phones has never been right.
By any chance is this a black phone with a black handset?
