I have a question about the "E" in the Samsung SVMI-4 vs the SVMI-4E.

What exactly makes the "E-series" so special. Is there a difference?

I am thinking that it means ethernet and or email gateway or their version of unified messaging.

4e has network mail boxes
4e has english-spnish-french built in
4e has multiple greetings for each user
4e is standard with 4 ports
4 has 2 ports and upgrades to 4 ports

1. Does your phone system have to have an Ethernet connection to use the network mail boxes or does the voicemail system have its own Ethernet (LAN) port?

I'm assuming this is what they call the Unified messaging or e-mailing your the voice message?

2. What do you mean by multiple greetings for each user? I thought each voicemail user can record their unique greeting for their own voicemail box?

3. Does it come with a few voicemail-to-email mail boxes before you have to pay extra?

No emailing the message is called the Email gateway and the 4E doesn't do it because it does not have a Lan port.The 4E also has a faster processor .
Network mailboxes I believe is a protocol where a voicemail system can pass a message to another voicemail system.

Sorry for the confusion. Each user can have multiple unique greetings.

What he means is that there is a no answer greeting and there is a mailbox greeting. You get the no answer greeting when your phone rings and you dont pick up. You get the mailbox greeting if someone is directly transfered to your mailbox.
