I recieve incomming calls through our PRI however, even though there is dial tone we get a "no ch available" error after dialing 9 to place a call. Using a idcs500r2, tepri. Are we messing up LCR?

I guess that depends, if its set up and is the 9 key your lcr digit. If lcr is turned on then you need to make sure that your routing tables are built correctly.. ie: you have entered digits in mmc 710 and the route table is built in mmc 712 along with the time table mmc 711. Pay special attention to 712 it needs to have the channels from the tepri in it ok.

Question : Do you have more than one tepri? and or pots lines? The reason I ask is if you only have the tepri and are using all channels you dont need lcr. lcr is designed to save the company money by selecting the approp trunk or pri or t1 as to limit long distance charges. You do see were I'm going right.

unless you are trying to stop 900 number calling

if your just using 9 to access lines then you need to make sure that the channels from the tepri are in mmc 603. But you need to turn off lcr.

Sounds like your LCR is not set up properly. What happens if you pick a trunk on the PRI by grabbing it without LCR, example, dialing 701 do you get dial tone? If so can you dial out? If you dial 9 and see LCR in your display, then try to dial and it fails then you need to look over your LCR settings as described by Wrichey.

Answer: 430 PRI Exclusive channel selection rather than preferred. I guess the system was confused. o yeah, me too, lcr, was my way of using big words so that you would think I was smart. It is true that I don't need lcr (I have onle 1 pri), thanks wrichey. That internal 'dial tone' sounds like the real deal. Is this setting due to a requirement of my isp? :toast:

Also, The use channel can effect this in MMC 430. If you are not using a full PRI this number should be the number of channels that you have in the span.
