I've got 2 phones that have the LEDs on the programable buttons (in particular, the ones programmed to dial another extension) intermitently turn on and off. I made a call from one of the phones, and during that 45 minute conversation I watched those LEDs twinkle on and off. I made sure the call was made when no one was in the facility. And it wasn't like the LED was on as if someone was calling calling into the extension and was waiting for the line to be picked up: some of those LED's were just blinking on and off.

I've got a DCS Compact system. I do know that both lines a that are acting up are sit on different digital cards. Other extensions associated with those cards don't seem to be having any problems. No wiring changes have occured. I've replaced phones, and the the problem still persists. This has been happening sporadically over the course of months.

Has anyone seen anything like this before?

First thing I would do is power down, rerack the cards and power up.

This isn't anything I've seen before. Do any CO lights come on and the voice mail calls the station then goes back to VM?

PVJ is right, Samsung sent us 2.7 software to correct this problem. MMC 727 will tell you your version of software. Software for Compact is now at 2.8.

My ROM version reads v1.7! Are we a bit behind the times?

We had to add a 2nd expansion chassis last spring (giving us 3 chassis total), and the telecom company that came in to do the work was almost relieved that they did not have to perform a software upgrade to perform the expansion. I was given the impression that upgrading the software was going involve a painful reconfiguration of the system. Does that make sense to anybody?

Is there a way of finding out what issues got resolved between my software rev and what v2.7/v2.8?

Your phone rom version may be 1.7 but the system software can't be as it wouldn't even run the iDCS series phones. To check the system version go to mmc 727 in programming.

Here's what I see:

ROM Version: v1.7
CPM Version: v4.3
LPM1 Version: v4.3
LPM2 Version: v4.3
T1 (C1S1) Version: v2.3
No AA Card
No VDial Card
VM (C2S7) Version: v1.1

If the ROM version isn't the software version, what should be reported with MMC 727?
