I just replaced the DCS 70 in our office with a "DCS" (dcs 100).. A much larger system for the simple reason that the BRI kept screwing up data and fax calls half way (even after many cabling changes and setup changes)
The 8MWSLI Card in the system in extensions 217-223 but the analogue phones connected will not "ring". You can dial from analogue equipment connected to the SLI extensions, but the phones don't ring when you call inbound.
ANy ideas? The system was only removed a few weeks back from an old company i worked for and the system definately was working fine.. Only difference is its been reset to factory defaults.
Also, If anyone knows the MMC to change the trunk and extnesion numbers I would be greatful. I can't find it in the manual, even thou I have changed it seeveral times in the past.

Just as a thought after reading up on some other posts, is it possible its a bad wiring of the TAIL? I had to wire the tail myself as they were cut, the way I have wired the tails is all the same and the tails are working on the DLI/ TRK/ BRI OK
Maybe the SLI does not use pin 1/26 , 2/27, 3/28 etc for SLI ??? Any ideas? Maybe someone knows the Pin outs for the SLI side of things, although I would assume its the same!!!

For changing trunk and extension numbers, go to mmc 724.

I figured out 724, very different to the old DCS 70.
However Im going to try playing with MMC 208 and 510 in regards to the lack of SLI ringing. Im guessing something may be bad in here.Any thoughts?

Are you sure the SLI ports are setup to ring? Is this problem on incoming calls ,calls transferred to a SLI station or both?If it works fine on an internal call and you can transfer a call OK then you need to add the stations to the ring group for incoming calls.

No internal calls or the DID make the SLI's ring.. which is a problem for the fax machines. (They dont pick up)
Currently I have just hooked the fax up via an KBD_SLI on the back of the phone in the server room at the office which works fine.
Some background is, I have a Analogue phone hooked up to 224 currently, if i ring it from 201 (digital ext) the phone does not ring. If I answer the call on 224 (which is not rining) i get connected perfectly fine. (too bad i aint telepathic)
im guessing the voltages may be different due to it being a MW SLI and that i need to change it. I would even think i need an RGEN card, but this system used to have a fax machine hooked up to it and was working fine for several years.

Are you saying that the system you have now is a iDCS100 or Officeserv 100?In North America there is no 8MWSLI card just a 8SLI card.Did you move this card over from the other system?Maybe it's not compatible.

Its a "SAMSUNG DCS". Which I think is the equivalent to a DCS 200. THE 8MWSLI has always been in this system. The system has not been altered other than being moved abouot 10kM into my office.
The MW is just a Message Wait for SLI telephones with a MW lamp. Its more old school but hey.ÂÂ
FYI - You can hear the rockers clicking in the SLI card when you dial the SLI extensions. the "click click click" etc as is normal. The card has no issue making outbound calls.

the click is normal.
have you checked the sli ring type? it should be set to CO ring. are you sure the phone you put on there works. I would put a test set on the pair and see if it rings.
My final thought is you have the pairs punched wrong but thats just a guess.
edited for spelling

The ring voltage would be generated onboard the card. Do any of the ports ring ok ?
