OS7400. Call comes in to auto attendant, caller dials a user's extension. Call is transferred to that extension. Phone user wants to ignore that call and send it straight to voicemail, but didn't have DND turned on before the call was transferred. Is there something the user can press to redirect that call to voicemail? On other systems, pressing DND does this. However, in this case, pressing DND sets DND, but doesn't affect that call that's already ringing in.

If DND is set before the call is transferred to the phone, the call is forwarded to voicemail ("FWD DND to 549" on LCD when DND is set).

Thanks!

Justin

Pressing the pound key will send the call to voicemail when your phone is ringing. Does not work for a ringing station group though, only when your extension is dialed.

Even with nothing programmed as a feature code for "Divert"?

Benb I just tried this on a 100 R1. On the ring group (500 in this case) the phone in the ring group shows the line key solid green when the # key is pressed. You go to the voicemail box of the phone that pressed the # key. I haven't tried it without line keys on the phones.

That's interesting. I figured it just wouldn't work at all involving a station group. I guess if you didn't mind getting the message for the group in your mailbox you could use it for that too. That said you do not need a divert option or anything like that. Simply press the pound key when your phone rings to send the call into your mailbox.

There must be something I'm overlooking that's causing it to fail. Pressing # while the phone is ringing has absolutely no affect. Is there a way to disable this feature, where maybe I need to re-enable it?

Check the dial number plan and make sure the # key is not assigned to something else

Well, that's the strange part. Divert has no feature code assigned. VM Memo ("quick memo") is assigned the # key, because that's what I get the warning about when I attempt to assign # to the Divert feature. However, I did assign an unused code to Divert, and that didn't work either.

Try turning on VM AME for the Station COS of the phone that is pressing pound. It is off by default and needs to be turned on for that feature to work.

I saw that, but didn't think AME had anything to do with the feature. I'll give that a try tomorrow. Thanks!
