I have the FX-II Expansion unit running feature set 17D. I was wondering if anyone can give me a rundown on enabling QSIG networking on my Comdial system. When I go to the Networking -> Network Properties section on the VMMI Programming system, the Network Database Status box has the following options: Disabled (Default/Selected), Enabled as Hub, Enabled as Node. If I look through the help system, it states that I should have a fourth option that will enable the system as a qsig node. I was wondering if anyone can tell me what I need to do to enable this? Is it a software license? Or a piece of hardware? Or do I need to enable networking, first, as a node before I can select QSIG?

Thanks,
Nick

QSIG never got off the ground. It was developed in the lab and not released to the general public.

I don't believe Comdial ever ended up releasing QSIG as an option, even though it appears in VMMI. "Networking" is the proprietary connection between Comdial systems, which requires appropriate hardware and licensing.

Dave beat me to the answer, and confirmed it at the same time. :thumb:

Thanks for the replies, guys. A follow-up question for you - I have a Comdial system connected to my Asterisk-based VoIP system via T1 lines. Is there any way, at all, to set up dialing such that I can dial extensions on the Asterisk system from the Comdial system, without ARS or line access? Thus far I've not been able to find a way to do this, but I'm hoping I just haven't found that one magic option :-).

Thanks,
Nick
