I am new to PBX systems but I have figured a lot out from the manuals I have found on the web. I need some assistance with the following:

1.) How do I figure out what the main phone on my system is?
2.) If the default PBX programming code does not
work, how do I reset it?
3.) How do I change or update the greetings on my
phone system and the dial by name directory?

I cannot find any answers to these questions. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Welcome to the Forum. Please read Here we look forward to helping you with your communications needs.

1) See post below.

2) If the password is not default, you will need to get it from your vendor. We dont and will not supply that information on the open forum.

3)What voicemail do you have? all voicemails program different. So once we know that we can probably walk you through.

**Edited misread question 1** following poster is correct

I think the main phone is x21 or whichever phone rings when you press the top left station key on any other phone.

Ok I tried every code we know on that phone and nothing worked!! We do not have a vendor since
it was installed quite awhile ago so I am stuck
with trying to fix it. Any suggestions or somewhere
you can point me to online?

The older systems programmed from ext 14 or 24 so youmight try that.

If it is a 816 the default ext is 24 if it's a plus the default is 21 but any display set is a program phone on a 816 system

Is the dial by name controlled by the Prostar or the Starmail?

You can start with hiring a local Samsung tech and get some training from him/her.

If you PM me your zip code I can find one close to you and give you the contact information.
