How can I determine which model of Comdial I have? There is no writing evident on the hardware.

That is a mighty tough question to answer. The best place to start is to provide the phone model numbers from the labels on them. That will narrow the search field considerably.

Size, color description of KSU--color, description, model number of phone. Just like with any other phone system, car, boat, house....

I could find no labels or stickers. It is a 4 line X 8 station system. Two RJ14 plugs for lines-L1&L2 and an amphenol for stations. I looked at a DX-120 picture and it looks the same. The phones are Impact 12 buttons with display and spkrphone-no numbers on sets either (sheesh!)
I found a users manual for the sets and it says it will work with DXP-80 and DXP-120s, but the pictures of the DXP's I have seen looks different than the ksu.
Would 12 btn Impct phones work with a DX-120?

No, Impact phones will, however work with a DSU I (Black steel cabinet) or a DSU II (Grey steel cabinet). At the top of the cabinet, there should be a Comdial sticker --on the side where the amphenol connector is--that has a model number like "j0816" or something like that.
The DX120 is plastic--dark grey in color--but has no amphenol connectors on it at all.

Access is hard for a closeup, but first letter looks like a G. I think it reads "G0408.
Thanks

OK. Looks like G0408 was correct for a DSU in a black steel cab-thanks. Now I need to change the lines or ringing. All phones have Line 1 Ring Line 2 Ring
Customer wants 10- L1 R L2 R 11- L1 R 12- L2 R
Or - 11-L1 R L2 No R 12-L1 No R L2-R

If you plan on maintaining this system, you're going to have to get your hands on a Tech Manual. Program 54--Flexible Ring Assignments. You may also want to do a Master Clear of the system to get rid of all unwanted programming. Has the customer had this system working for some time?? If the rest of the programming is OK, you can just use program 54. Good Luck.

Just like most of the other manuals, this one is not completely descriptive. From what I read, I am to program using one of the attendants- -dial the sta/line config -dial the direct ringing code -dial the sta port -dial * to save
Does that sound correct? I could use some help. If you have more details, just PM me, or confirm here. Thanks
