Customer has 2 cabinet OS500 w/MGI, PRI, SLI, DLI etc. svmi8e went down, When I connect laptop and do reset, Svmi starts with boot menu and can select launch svmi but system stops at blue screen (SVM call processing family) then after a minute or so keeps restarting. I can pull all files off flash card. My question is: Should I format flash card and reload dbase? is the problem w/ flash or mother board? If I boot to DOS prompt is there a command to fix issue? Also, I have installed a SVMi 16e temporarily and it came up fine.

I had the same trouble with an SVMI4 (not e), exactly the same symptoms. Ended up being a bad sector on the CF card making a file corrupt. Replace the CF card. Reformatting it only delayed it for us, the problem came back a few days later. Format a new flash card and see if you can copy the files over, or get a clean copy of the files and rebuild the database

Do you mean format the flash card or default the system from cd dta prompt? My understanding is when you format the flash card you remove some proprietary info that makes the flash card inoperable.

That information will have to be sent in a private message. We will not allow that type of information on the open boards.
Thank you for understanding.

did you format the old card or a new card? I have done this (and continue to) many times to get a customer up and running or to increase storage time on the older systems with 100% success.
