I have a task and wanted to know if it will work. I want to connect a OfficeServ 500 TEPRI to a Router with VWIC2-2MFT-T1/E1 card. The sytem is already installed.
The client requirement are as follows
The outline for the QSIG connection:

· ISO QSIG
· PABX will be Trunk Clock Master, the Cisco router will be the Slave Clock
· PABX allocates highest trunk first & Router allocates lowest trunk first at call setup. This is to avoid call collision during setup.

· All trunks are ‘both-way calling’.
· The Network dial code will be an 8 (every time an 8 is dialled on the PABX it is sent via the QSIG route)
· All dialled digits should be output to the router, the leading 8 is used as part of the routing.
· Please add a translation for incoming digits from 1000 to the operator console. This should be allowed to follow the ‘out of hours’ service point.

· The Router will only deliver the last four (4) dialled digits to the PABX. The Local office ‘Network Node ID’ will be absorbed by the Cisco router. The PABX therefore doesn’t need to be programmed with a Network Node ID.

· Please set the PABX to GB (UK) progress tones (Ring, Busy, etc) on this route, if possible.

Kindest Regards,

OukoTech

You will need a E1 Cross over cable to go between the TEPRI and Cisco with the TEPRI being master (couldn't get L2 up with cisco master)

I have done something similar with a OS7400 and a cisco.

If you arn't connecting to any other samsung systems you won't need a node id in the samsung.

Add the 1000 entry into the DID table as you would any other indial.

All in all very easy to setup on the samsung side

Thank a million times. I connected the TEPRI to Cisco using Xover E1 cable and all is seems well. However I have created 8 channels in PRI/E1 I wanted number like 8342-2001 to ring in ext 2001, and 8342-2002 to ext 2002 and onwards. I've need been able to achieve this and any help will be highly appreciated. This forum is just great!

You will need to set your QSIG trunks as normal (not p2p)
then you can use trunk ring (like you do with PSTN lines) for the QSIG trunks to send each channel to a single handset, your better off using DID and ignoring the trunk line though, much less programming

I used DID and it is working great. One thing is still giving me headache. Anybody great in LCR routes. I want client to dial an eight digit number beginning with all beginning with eight to use the PRI trunks. I was created PRI trunk group 8(7009..7038) and and LCR 01:8 in MMC 724 and in MMC 710 LCR DIGIT 1: DIGIT:8 still this is not working. I dont know what i have left out.
