I have no experience with this particular phone system but, I'm the only tech in the area willing to give it a shot. Does anyone know how to install MOH on this system? I imagine it's not that bad but, I'd like to have an idea of what to expect going in.
Thanks David

If it's a Prostar 816 it's really easy, just plug the source into the mini phono plug on the right side of the KSU. Inserting the phono plug will automatically disable the internal music source.

Thanks Marc, I didn't think there was much to it but, it never hurts to check before hand, especially when the job is 2 hrs away!

I'm not sure, but isn't there a jumper inside the system for internal or external. Maybe it is for the 816 or the 816+.

You might be correct, I get the older models confused because the old PROSTAR 816 is what I was referring to in my post. I just pulled out the very old manual and confirmed my information.
However, the manual for the Prostar DCS 816 indicates the source is connected to Black/Orange - Orange/Black on the block and then you move the shunt-pin switch to select the external source.
So with that said, I guess it's up to the OP to confirm which system he is referring to in his post.
Maybe WRichey can help us clarify which system.

Thanks for catching that! It is indeed the 816 "plus". Is the jumper marked "internal/external" or is there just a jp number? I'll have to look through the PDF version of the manual I have again, but I didn't see anything about MOH initially.
Thanks David

Well dang, just went through the manual and there it is, section 3.9. I did a search within the PDF for it earlier but it didn't find it. Hopefully this will be as easy as it sounds.

The 816 did not come in pdf form that I know of. So the one you have is probably scanned images. The search may not work in the particular one. None the less they are correct and it really is that easy. :thumb:

Well, it wasn't quite a slam dunk. Someone had been there before and broke the 1/8" jack. Not a big deal, replaced it and their new MOH system is up and running.........
