I have a doctor's office with an OS7200. Over the weekend carpenters unplugged the receptionist's phone and AOM to work around her desk but when she came in this morning and plugged in the phone and AOM the AOM's buttons would not work. It has busy lamps but the dss keys and day/night buttons will not work. It doesn't look damaged, button programming looks ok, and master set is assigned. Have any ideas?

Here's the answer you got in the other post "DRB you need to start a new post when starting a new topic please. But I htink the answer you are looking for is in AOM MASTER MMC. More than likley the AOM was plugged into the keyset jack and vice vera. You need to tell the system what extension is the master of the AOM again." -------------------- Bobby Mreen www.altcomm.net Communications Technician

Thanks for the reply. The master was set again, but the AOM still did not work. I will try removing the AOM from programming completely and program it back to see if it comes up.

So the programming ie AOM master and the AOM keys are programmed? You mentioned that the "busy " lamps were working? You mean if say ext 202 picked up their phone the AOM would show that 202 was busy?

Yes, you can see lights when users are on the phone, but you can not press the button to call them or use the buttons we have set up for day and night ring plans.

It does sound like the AOM hasn't been "paired" with a master station, or its been paired with the wrong one.
I have seen them come unpaired from time to time.

Also make sure that if you have more than one AOM that you are working with the correct AOM extension.

Thanks guys, it is working. I checked today and it had started working since I last checked. The last time I was in system programming, I had the customer unplug the AOM, and I changed the type of set to an 8 button then back to 64 AOM. I then had the customer plug it back in and I assigned the master again. Maybe I didn't give it enough time to come up. I'm not sure why it is working now, but I'm not complaining. I always keep your ideas for future reference. Have a great day!
