Hi all, we have a customer with a special SIP setting. The carrier demands no user and pass. The PBX should be connected to a router/gateway they installed at the client's office and should have the local IP they assigned... it'a a kind of VPN with the carrier. We try to set it up as VoIP peering (MMC 833) but there are problems: 1: there's no audio on incoming calls, the carrier says the system is sending no request to send the RTP packets to the MGI IP address. 2: there's no way to do outgoing calls, the carrier says there's no data getting there and the system disconnects the call directly.

With voip peering you put the ip address into the table.
You then need to program the voip outgoing digits table, this tells the system which entry of which table to use, and whether to look at MMC837 or not.

Yeah, i suppose it is like lcr, though the standard lcr tables apply after this so that you send it via the correct trunk group.
I assume you have a sip trunk license?

Yes I do. As I said the incoming calls ting at the extension but there's no audio. The carrier says they keep on sending RTP to MCP IP address because they have no request to send it to MGI IP address.

I find the carriers statement hard to belive, as the ip and port for audio are contained in the call setup messages.
Get a trace and have a look at the sip messages (or send it to me and i can have a look).
Though they must get the re-invite as the audio eventually comes through.
What system is this on? and do you have multiple MGI/OAS cards?
