I've got a big job coming up and need a better way of splitting fused pairs (Cat5/Cat6 plenum). I've used scissors/knife's in the past, but it's tedious and tough on the fingers.
I've heard there is a tool for this task.
Anyone???
Thanks in advance,

i have a little tool that is made by belden (?) that will split the fused pairs. it sucks to use but it works and is specifically made for the job.
couldn't tell you where to get it as i have had it forever and have kept up with it for fear of never finding another one.

I have the same tool as chrislebeck, it's belden, came with each box of cat6 cable actually. And I'm down to my last tool. If you find one, watch it close, it may walk away quickly.

Is it the Belden #1797B? Widely available from online ($10-$20) and they seem to pop up on Ebay frequently.

Just guessing here but is the fused Cat6 already in place or demanded as per job spec. If not go with quality brand of cable like NFC said.

Just a tip. Using Panduit jacks and Panduit modular patch panels seem to work well with Belden bonded pair cable.
