I'm trying to come up with a list of quality products used for data cable instalation. From patch panels all the way to the jack inserts. If I narrowed my lis down to these vendors.. (i know there are many more!) would this be the correct order for quality?
Best - Krone - most expensive and highest quality Very Good - Panduit Good - Ortronics Fair - AMP/Leviton

Panduit.....I dont even want to go there. They are cheap and a real pain.
AMP/Leviton, Ortronics, Siemon. Krone is a good product but not on my list.

My project plan is based around Panduit for bidding purposes. I hear from other vendors they are the "chevy" or "fords".. good all around mid priced, etc. What problems have you had?

I really like Siemon products, but I'd rate AMP and Hubbell up there with them. Commscope is OK (I prefer their patch panels to their jacks). I don't like Panduit or Ortronics.

A division of AMP has been making data and telcom conectors and such since forever. They invented alot of the stuff. Siemons has been a top quality telcom provider world wide for years also. That some of what I know.

Don't go Krone. You must be with the Gov't to spec them. KLD

ICC The inline inserts are are lot quicker to install and I like using blank patch panels with inserts it makes it easier to add cables later or repairs.

I don't see Krone spec'd anywhere any more. I see Systimax (was Avaya, now Commscope) spec'd into alot of high end jobs. Really all of the manufacturers have a multiple range of quality in their own product lines. Which manufacturer supports you as the installer best? Which manufacturer gives your customer the best warranty? How may flavors of Vanilla are there?
