Put a 6' chain in your arson, they work great, if there is insulation make sure you get in front of it.

I rarely use my tape anymore (only for conduit). Greenlee's Fish Stix are all I use. They are flexible and you get a straight fish everytime.

Fishtape, some glow rods, and pullstring w/beam clamp works well. I usually use one of these means to fish the wall. A flex/bit works well for alarm wire fishing.

I had read about using an old tape measure to fish insulated walls. One of my tape measures broke so I cut the bad end off and put duct tape around it. I have yet to use it but I am sure it would work well.

I got stuck fishing an insulated wall, without my tools. I hadn't planned on doing it that day.

I got my wire, tied a fishing wieght onto the end double-knotted it. I found a fly-swatter, the ones with the wire that loops around. stuck it through the hole in the wall. Got up above the cieling, and dropped the wire and weight right through the hole in the fly-swatter. I twisted the fly-swatter around acouple times...and it pulled right through the wall. I cut the wire, and presto-chango, I could install the jack.

Not my first choice on how to do it, but it worked. Really easily too.

I think I have seen one of these things at a local electical supply store (If it's what I think it is.

It was rather large and would be difficult to use for what we do, and the price was a bit steep...

Give me Fish Stix, Fish Tape, and tartar sauce any day (Those magnetic gadgets don't taste  well either!
