My boss asked me the question below today and I am still pondering how or if it can happen with any phone system available today.
Question: We have an indivudal who is leaving harrasing phone messages after hours. We need to allow this individual the ability to continue to leave messages, but we also need to buffer the staff from them. For example, have the phone extension port to a single VM box in evening mode that a specific individual will screen, but during "day" mode the phone extension would port to the specific phone.
If anyone has any ideas please let me know.
Thanks Neil

If the individual calls from the same number you could use CID routing to do this. You are going to need to know what brand/model phone system you have.

If you have a Comdial DX80 KeyVoice VM card you can forward the messages to another extension at certain times during the day/nite. This would have to be done by someone who knows the VM programming ---and that technician would need the Keyvoice programming DOS-based software. I did this about 5 or 6 years ago and I seem to remember that it works pretty slick--the forwarded message states that it is forwarded from "extension 101" for example. The person getting the forwarded message can then save or delete.
If your VM is a later version, it will give you the CID, I think.

That is great news. Does anyone in here know someone in my area that will come out and work on this?
Thanks Neil
