Sam In RF the higher frequency is more speed, in light it means the cable can handle more paths or increased bandwidth. The larger the nm, longer the wave or with RF the lower the frequency. The light used in fiber isn't modulated like FM, but is more like AM/CW - keyed on and off. The different frequencies all travel down the path together but don't interfere with each other like an RF signal would...Light in fiber behaves as a packet instead of a wave. In MM, the more light paths are like a free set of strands for each new color added.
