The STS will do trunk to trunk transfer. However Brokeda has the best solution. If you use DID's you can still get more calls in.

I like the STS but for this situation I would quote a Norstar.

If I understand what Mark is saying, he is talking about call transfer feature on the analog lines from the lec. Here it would be cheaper that Centrex or T-1 and would free up their own trunk and all the STS would need to be able to do is an external flash.

nfcphoneman,
Not finding trunk to trunk transfer in the STS manuals, and none of the types of tranfer listed frees the original trunk the call came in on. Can ya help me out, what am I missing.
Thanks,
Bill

Don't know what that has to do with the transfer issue, but I'll accommodate 20/40. But as stated all lines are listed and dedicated to different departments, the most any department has is two lines dedicated to them, they are currently using 2line phones or single line phones on a Centrex. This would be no problem if they had shared trunks and a single number with hunting, could go the AA route.

Easy, I was seeing if PRI was even viable and with 20 lines why not? PRI would alleviate your problems if your switch can do it. Tenant services would be a good thing as well. Just get the PRI port the numbers program the switch easy as pie. This would allow FAR more capacity as well.

No problem, I'll give all info requested. I know the different alternatives, just trying to work with what they want. I'm going to present alternatives, it's just I was put in the position of "this is what we want" I really appreciate all the input.

The last time I checked, which was about 3 or 4 months ago, PRI was still in beta test for the STS. T1 was available but not PRI. It may have changed since then but I had to change from an STS to a MICs at the last minute to accomodate the PRI. I do agree that PRI would be the way to go though. You may want to check on the status of the PRI card before you get too far out on a limb, and I'll see what I can find out as well.

Bill,
I'm not sure if it is in the manual. I just know that when I get a call on my STS, I can transfer out via another CO line.

Thanks for the latest replies, I really doubt they would go with a PRI, or a T1 for that matter. Larry on the trunk to trunk, those that have only one line couldn't do it. So looks like I'm back to square one. I may be wrong but I think the only way to make this work like they want is to keep the Centrex and transfer via Centrex, however they insist they want internal transfer and dump the Centrex. So you smart folks keep those ideas coming and thanks for all the input.
