Only proper way is with a switch.

don't need proper- not for a customer. Beanies weren't working; lines seemed to be shorting.

Beanies? That's what plumbers use when they do wiring, right?

Don't need proper? Then why bother asking.

Confused I am. The title of the post says split DSL, but then the question is about ethernet.
As Dave said, the only way to "split" ethernet is with a switch.
As for DSL, you can connect exactly one DSL modem at the customer end.

Okay; so here is the situation: I have a DSL modem, a satellite DVR, and want 2 additional ethernet outlets. So in all, I have installed 4 ethernet outlets. Now after I beanied all of the lines together none of them worked. Then I cut two of the outlets out of the setup and then it worked great. So does this mean you can only have two active outlets?

Reading through your posts (this one is just the latest icing on the cake) it's obvious your knowledge is less than zero.
Have you ever at least thought about doing some research in the internet, maybe reading some books about how things work just so you don't ask ridiculous questions?
