I am trying to get the latest version of VIP to work on my computer. I am a VIP Professional user and I saw that there was a new version listed that is supposed to allow skins so I figured I would upgrade. It installs and begins to load when I open outlook and then I get an error about an ActiveX control. does anyone have any ideas of what I can check to get this new version working properly? Thanks in advance.

Are you running the latest software on the switch? Also you may need to upgrade your ActiveX version.

How do I update the ActiveX controls? I am running v10.9.5 on my 256X FSIII.

I just loaded the new VIP, no problem at all, I have all the new features and skins.

You might want to look at this:

VIP is incompatible with the following (i.e., if any licensed VIP product and any of these are installed on the same PC, the VIP application won’t run):

* A Citrix, Windows Terminal Services, or other similar environment.
* LexisNexis Time Matters.
* Any Grisoft AVG product.
* Any Oncontact application.
* BitDefender.

Note also that ESI neither tests whether, nor claims that, VIP should work alongside PDAs, Pocket PCs, or synchronization software for these devices. Similarly, the only VIP feature known to work with a BlackBerry is remote voice mail notification. You must be at a PC, with an ESI Feature Phone, to use VIP’s unified messaging and call control features.

In my first use of VIP I was running AVG and once I took that out of the picture I am fine. I am running Norton Corp now and all is well.

hope this helps a little

The thing that confuses me is that it actually asks which user account credentials to use during the install. I have never had a previous version of VIP ask for user credentials and I know that I have administrative privileges on this machine. I have even tried using the domain administrator account privileges during the install and I still get the same error. I use Command Antivirus, which has worked before and is even disabled in an attempt to install the latest version. I don't use Citrix or any of the other software mentioned above and even with my PDA removed and uninstalled, it still doesn't want to load properly. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I can manually run the esiuser.exe file and program my station without a problem and I can even adjust the options that are available from the VIP toolbar in Outlook. The problem appears to be when it tries to add the VIP icon to the system tray.

Has anyone noticed that on the ESI Users site that VIP has been brought back from the 3.15.0 version to the 3.14.10 version? They must have had more problems with 3.15 than they wanted to deal with and decided to recall that version for further development prior to release. Has anyone else experienced problems with VIP 3.15.0?

Just to let everyone know, ESI has released VIP v. 3.15.02 now that works just fine on my system. I really like the new skins that are included with the new version. Now we just need for ESI to create a repository for skins so that skins can be installed in addition to the ones that are included.
