I have a merlin 820d2 phone system, and i am not sure what amplifier and/or controller to use. I have 1 horn and 2 ceeling speakers. I should not need to much amp power, but i would like room to add 1 or 2 more speakers.

The Merlin has an RCA (phono)connector for paging output. For your requirements, any 10 watt amplifier should be fine. The key will be to check the speakers and find our if they are 25/70 volt (two-wire) or 24 volt self-amplified (four-wire). These definitely don't mix.

If i remember right i think it has a phone jack for the paging jack (RCA for MOH), and i will find out what the speakers are.
Thank You

I have an ATW H508 Horn, it is 8 OHM and it says 30 watts. The two ceiling speakers are Dukane 5A455, 10 Watts, 70/25v. Hope that helps.

Actually the Merlin 820D2 has a 6pos jack for paging. Pins 4&5 are the audio and 3&6 is a contact closure.

I have an ATW H508 Horn, it is 8 OHM and it says 30 watts. The two ceiling speakers are Dukane 5A455, 10 Watts, 70/25v. Hope that helps.

Yeah it does, you have a problem. Get rid of that horn and get one with a 70v transformer in it to match your ceiling speakers. Then get a 30 watt PA amp that has a 70 volt output. Make sure that your three speakers are not tapped for more than 25 watts total.

If your amp has a 70v and 8ohm port on it, can you run a second wire to the horn and the ceiling speakers?
