I'm looking to add Caller ID support to our system. It's an IDS 84 system. I know they had devices you could plug into one of the serial ports that could handle up to 8 lines. Any suggestions?

You're on the right track. The interface was manufactured by a 3rd party - don't remember the name. Executone called it an "Infostar Caller ID Interface". Unit is connected in parallel on CO lines then connected to spare RS232 serial port. You'll need the book or a local vendor in order to be successful as there are MANY items that need to be properly configured.

The box is manufactured by TCI (Tel Control Inc.)
It's called an MLX1082 or sometimes TCX1082. I think you need at least 8.0 CPU software but I may be wrong. The installtion is pretty straight forward as outlined in the manual.
