I need a 85b1 Power Unit for a 4A Set. Does anyone know off hand where I can get one? I have everything else. or.. Can I use a Precision Components Power Unit (has the same plug on the end). My other question is Can I use a standard Transformer and if so, what is the voltage? Is it 18v or 16v? Thanks for any info.

Any 18VAC source will work. They were often powered by a spare pair from the KSU's power supply.

I have one I'd be glad to sell you fairly cheaply, but I have seen what EV describes before and it is listed in the BSP so it is a cheap way to do it if you have a KSU

Any doorbell transformer that puts out 16-18 volts will work. Using the 18Vac tap from a KSU supply that is grounded will occasionally cause hum to be heard in the spkrphn. If you can isolate the 18Vac from the rest of the supply, that is the best way.
