I am getting ARS busy or dead air when placing outgoing calls. Incoming calls get a busy signal. I've tried replacing the T1c card with a new card and daughter card.

MCI claims the T1 is fine and the T1c card isn't getting a red alarm.

Any else seen this problem ?

We have a couple of customer sites (with 4.4) that have the same issue. Found it to be a channel issue from the provider. We determined what channels were bad and pulled them from the Trunk group. Provider doesn't find any issue, but when they check their circuit, the channels come back. One customer solved the problem by switching providers. This is a nasty issue to be in the middle of with all the finger pointing. Good luck.

The T1 suddently came back up this morning. I wonder if Verizon (our local provider) put a loop on the circuit for testing. In the Past when MCI would loop the smart jack, the T1 would come back up.

The vendor is trying to get me to upgrade to a new software version. I wonder if this will solve the problem.

I'm not sure what to tell you about an upgrade. One of our sites did that and it made no difference for their problem. The other site switched providers and they haven't had any more issues - even though both circuits (the original and the one from the new provider) were from the same CO and were using the same facilities and were set up the same. Rather odd.

No reason to upgrade for this issue unless you want and like some of the other features they now have. Stick with the 4.4, one of best versions out there, unless like I said, you want other features.
