If you google a telecom topic and Sundance tech talk results come up..(like they usually do) ...when you click on them you are not directed to that topic but just to the main tech talk category page.
Is this going to be corrected?

Those Google indexes were for stuff Google found on the old board. The old board is gone so what Google has doesn't go anywhere anymore. Give Google a few years to index this new site. In the meantime try the search function within the forum at the top of the page.

Why just write up some Apache rewrite rules and put them into a .htaccess in the root directory of the forum? Then all traffic can be redirected to the new forum, and the forum won't take a hit to pagerankings?
Edit: has to rewrite from /cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi to the new link. I'm almost positive this can be done.

All traffic does go to this new site, or about as far as it can go. Sundance-communications.com remains. The URLs for everything after that has changed. I would say (because I haven't any) if you bookmarked a topic from the old board you will now get a 404 or page not found error.

Yep that's the problem. A huge hit to SEO/search engine pagerankings on the forums, plus the usability issue. Like I said, it should be easy to craft a Rewrite regular expression line in a .htaccess to fix that. But I'm not really familiar with UBBthreads to know how to correctly make one up. I bet others have run into this issue and a posting over at the official support forums for UBBthreads could find a fix.

Another suggestion- all the stickies and announcements look just like the posts in a forum. You have to really look to see where the posts start. Is it possible, as I've seen on other boards, to make them different- a different color type, shaded background, bold type...? What does this software allow?
