The SVMi cards can be used as a MOH source. You just need to set it up and then assign that as the MOH source for your trunk/indial number

Record as a prompt number above 5000, set vmmoh as the prompt number eg 5001, then assign moh source as vm port number, e.g. 301. Also turn on transer music on hold.

Prompt number can be anything >1000 (thought prompts 1001-1004 are default for the day/night/holiday/weather AA)

I use this all the time works great, you burn a vms port but it's very easy to setup.

On the embedded VM's it's real easy (7030 - 7200S).
Just upload a file using 8.6.1 VMAA/Voice Studio/Prompt
Upload 5000.wav
PM me and I can send you a compatible .wav file with generic, please continue to hold messages on it. It has to be a certain type of .wav file like 128 bit mono, etc. or it won't work.
Then in the phone system, go to 2.2.3 SMVi Card and set the last voicemail channel to 5000. It will take that port out of service and use it to broadcast MOH (not recommended really on a 7030 because it only has 2 VM ports and that would leave you with just one)
Then go to 2.4.2 and set the MOH to your voicemail port (304 in a 7100) and go to 2.5.6 DLI Data to set your BGM to the same. Then you can play it / check it by pressing your hold button to toggle background music to listen.
On a 7400 with an SVMi-20e, the best way I've found it so just record prompt 5000 with a handset up to a speaker playing music. With a little practice the quality ain't bad. Note, you must record the prompt before you program the system to use it or it will give you System Error when you try to save it.
